Virtual Variables
One of the most powerful features of FastStats
Discoverer is for the user to be able to create their own custom fields and
then use these in any of the analysis, profiling, modelling or selection
processes. There are a series of wizards to help, but in effect data can be
summarised from millions of rows of data and stored against contacts or
households / companies in seconds.
This functionality enables customer lifetime value - as a
whole - or based on any mix of products, together with recency, frequency
and value calculations to be computed without a call to your IT
support team!
Users can input their own files of reference numbers
(URN's) to create new 'include' or 'stop' selections, add new selectors
(pick list fields), reduce the number of categories in a pick list by
combining them into new variables - ideal for say a brand or sales manager
who only works with a only a subset of products - and much, much more.
Refreshable Reporting
The presentation quality reporting in
FastStats Discoverer makes information delivery easy. Reports can be created
with multiple data analysis results and visualisations and then delivered in
PDF, HTML or Excel presentations. Once a report has been defined it can be
refreshed with results from the latest data with a single click and drag.
Template Tools
All the Discoverer software tools
can be customised to suit your purposes and data. These template tools
provide ready results enabling knowledgeable users to prepare mechanisms for
single click access by other users. All Discoverer results can be stored and
retrieved with a single click and drag facilitating comparison between
previous and current analysis results.

Use multiple
selection windows to streamline complex selections!
Technical
The unique FastStats ‘column-based' database
technology delivers an unprecedented level of flexibility and speed,
revealing intelligence that is not possible using a conventional marketing
database!
FastStats differs from a conventional relational
database in that it stores its joins and embeds them within the system
structure as a series of highly compressed fields. It creates each data
field as a separate file and also creates a system 'view' and 'master'
system file. Using a mix of these, data is bit mapped and in effect aligned
on-the-fly based on which data needs to be analysed. It's the result of 9
incarnations of the product over 16 years and has been developed to deliver
additional insight to marketeers and analysts!
Options
FastStats Discoverer can be used standalone or
as part of the FastStats.NET architecture. Stand alone use maximises speed
and flexibility for individual analysts enabling FastStats to be used for
ad-hoc marketing analysis in addition to core strategic and tactical work.
Discoverer Enterprise connects to the FastStats.NET WebService and provides
browser based accessibility, scalability and resilience for marketing
workgroups.
System Design & Support
The FastStats
Discoverer system uses at its hub a FastStats 'highly compressed' database which
is batch updated for information refresh. This database is built using the
FastStats Designer module.

Use FastStats
Designer to design and build the underlying FastStats database!
