Data Cleansing, Enrichment and Database Management Services  

We offer a fast and affordable way to tidy up your data - from realigning data fields, standardising data definitions across multiple databases for accurate decision making, splitting mixed fields into first and last names, correcting title casing, verifying addresses and adding missing towns and Postcodes (or zip codes), removing duplicate records, and much more. See below for some of the ways we can help you.

We also offer a 121 list production resource where we use rules, data mining and segmentation to determine which message to send to which individual, then make selections and create the lists that contain the personalisation and codes to change the variable message and images.  These 'behaviour' triggers vary the content, offer, and optionally the web experience, delivered to each prospect by email, direct mail and through campaign-specific microsites.

Audit and fill gaps in your database

After standardising your data (we can convert 80+ different formats), we audit files in terms of field content, population, value distribution (min, max...), etc.

Once gaps are identified, we develop strategies to fill the holes. This may include acquiring and fusing external data (after segmentation and profiling), or even - in the case of B2B data - deriving URLs and emails, which we ping to validate.  See also animated e-surveys

ii. Making selections - Very often you need to do a mail merge or get an email out to a subset of your database. Typically you've got a CRM or contact management system, or perhaps are trying to access data stored on your operations system. You then find the support or skills you need aren't available, or that the pieces or information you feel should create the right list of people produce rather different results.  We can help in several ways. Checking and correcting your source data, identifying where interface problems exist, making the selections for you, even circumventing the issues using leading edge technologies and utilities.

Improve address quality (UK, Ireland, European, USA, Worldwide, e-mail) - we can take your address data and match against various address registers and external information to verify and enhance accuracy. Where department name and/or additional important comments or delivery instructions are nested in the address lines, then we are able to retain this information 'as-is' or standardise and migrate it to new fields.

Identify and remove duplicate records (B2B / B2C) - in a single file or across multiple databases or lists. Using fuzzy matching techniques, we consolidate important information from sets of duplicated records into new 'enriched' master records before removing unwanted information.

Standardise formats, coding and definition - to ensure fields align correctly - esp. if data is taken from spreadsheets, and that product, profile or category codes, values and descriptions, together with fields such as job title, function, marketing measures, etc. are uniform - with any value ranges standardised across all records. This prevents data misinterpretation, enables more accurate list selection and helps identify gaps in your data!

Data restructure and enhancement - improve data format and field layout; splitting fields containing mixed names or data; defining gender from first names; correctly casing Irish, Scottish... surnames - Macdonald > MacDonald etc.; salutation generation; etc.

Merge, de-duplicate and integrate 'difficult to link' databases, spreadsheets and lists... website interests, order details, customer data, mailing lists, email lists, surveys, etc.

Database development, enrichment and suppression

We can source and add data to enhance your database. We can then enrich this by including lifestyle, demographic, SIC, company profile, industrial datasets...

...and also provide the SONAR and Wealth predictor datasets for consumer profiling.

For suppression, we can use several external datasets including: NCOA (National change of address), GAS (Gone-away suppression), Deceased (Mortality), MPS (Mailing Preference Service), TPS (Telephone Preference Service), etc.

Pricing - our data improvement and enrichment services are usually charged on a per project basis, due to the number of factors that can come into play. We take account of your specific objectives, the required deliverables and timescales, the quality and state of your data, the number of files involved and the complexity of the task. 

We tend to base our quotation on realistic time estimations or actual time taken, plus any data costs as appropriate. Often, for data enrichment though, a mix of time and a cost per 1000 (for the number of records processed) and/or cost per record suppressed/enhanced, is applied.
